Deadline: 20 th November 2026
Sage announces the search for a new Editor/editorial team of our journal,
International Journal of Bilingualism (IJB). IJB is an international, peerreviewed, forum for the dissemination of original research on the linguistic,
psychological, neurological, and social issues which emerge from language
contact. While stressing interdisciplinary links, the focus of the Journal is on
the language behavior of the bi- and multilingual individual. We are
currently accepting editor applications for a three-year term
commencing January 1, 2027.
The Editor/editorial team will be responsible for soliciting, reviewing, and
making final decisions on submissions to the journal, and will manage all
aspects of the publication and review process using the ScholarOne (formerly Manuscript Central) electronic
submission and review platform. Editor/editorial team is expected to maintain timely and effective
communication, advance journal performance, and work towards upholding IJB’s high-quality standard. We are
also seeking an editor/editorial team committed to preserving the journal's identity as the only bilingualism
journal that welcomes contributions from all contributing linguistic sub-disciplines.
Applicants should have a distinguished scholarly record in the field of bi- and multilingualism and experience in
academic leadership roles. Applicants should also possess strong organizational and management skills, the
ability to work well with others, and a commitment to Sage’s mission: building bridges to knowledge —
supporting the development of ideas through the research process to scholarship that is certified, taught, and

the cornerstones of which are good, long-term relationships, a focus on our markets, and an ability to combine
quality and innovation.
Applicants should send a letter of application which includes their vision for the future of the journal
and a description of their qualifications for the editorship. Applicants should also include copies of their
