About the Opportunity: The EDITS/DENIALS CODER is responsible for accurately determining CPT and ICD-10 edits across various professional coding services. This role ensures precise coding based on medical documentation and coding policies and provides documentation feedback to physicians. The position plays a key role in maintaining coding quality and compliance, directly impacting the accuracy of healthcare data and reimbursement processes. Responsibilities: Accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 edits for professional services following official and client coding guidelines Analyze and correct CCI edits and medical necessity accounts Maintain ethical coding standards per AAPC and/or AHIMA Meet required coding quality and productivity levels Provide documentation feedback and query physicians when necessary Stay current with coding updates and participate in meetings and educational events Perform additional tasks as directed by management Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (e.g., CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A), maintained annually Minimum 2 years of professional/ambulatory coding experience across multiple chart types and services At least 1 year experience with LCD, NCD, Medical Necessity, Modifier Edits, OCE, MUE, NCCI classification, and payer denials Expert proficiency in CPT and ICD-10-CM coding Proficient with PC Windows environment, MS Excel, and EMR systems Pay Range and Compensation Package: Hourly pay ranges from $24.00 to $43.00 based on experience and employment status Benefits & Perks: 401(k) Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
