About brighthush

brighthush is a pioneering force in the evolving landscape of healthcare support. We are dedicated to redefining how patients, caregivers, and providers navigate the complex world of prescription medications. By marrying advanced technology, deep industry expertise, and a heartfelt commitment to empathy, we partner with pharmacies, insurers, and patient assistance programs to deliver a seamless, transparent experience that puts the patient at the center of every interaction. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make medication affordability a reality for every individual, regardless of where they live or their financial circumstances.

Why This Role Matters

As a Remote Prescription Assistance & Savings Specialist at brighthush, you become the frontline advocate for patients who often feel overwhelmed by the cost and logistics of their medications. Your voice, tone, and expertise directly influence whether a patient can obtain the medication they need, on time, and at a price they can afford. If you thrive on helping people, enjoy problem‑solving, and can juggle multiple priorities with grace, this position offers a unique blend of purpose, flexibility, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients via phone, chat, and email, providing clear, compassionate guidance on program eligibility and enrollment.
  • Data Collection & Verification: Gather, verify, and document patient financial information, insurance details, and supporting documentation to assess eligibility for prescription assistance programs.
  • Specialty Medication Processing: Process specialty medication orders, including obtaining necessary authorizations, coordinating with pharmacies, and ensuring accurate record‑keeping.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Maintain a professional, empathetic tone in all interactions, especially when addressing frustrated or upset callers.
  • Escalation Management: Identify, document, and, when appropriate, escalated complex adverse events or product quality concerns in accordance with client and regulatory guidelines.
  • Compliance & Process Adherence: Adhere strictly to established processes, procedures, and compliance requirements related to medication ordering, distribution, and communication.
  • Multi‑Platform Navigation: Navigate multiple databases and software platforms simultaneously, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training, certification programs, and industry updates to stay current on best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with pharmacy partners, insurance specialists, and compliance officers to resolve patient issues efficiently.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and report on key performance metrics, including call volume, resolution time, and customer satisfaction scores.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a high‑volume call center or customer service environment.
  • Prior exposure to medical office, pharmacy, or non‑clinical healthcare settings is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise explanations.
  • Active listening proficiency, coupled with the skill to ask probing questions that uncover underlying customer needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple computer programs and databases concurrently.
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver high‑quality, compassionate service in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Effective de‑escalation techniques for handling difficult or emotionally charged calls.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with prescription assistance programs, patient financial counseling, or related services.
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) processes, and related workflows.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, data privacy best practices, and secure handling of protected health information.
  • Previous remote work experience, demonstrating self‑motivation, discipline, and an independent contractor mindset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Customer‑centric mindset with a passion for helping others.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and evolving processes.
  • Tech‑savvy: comfortable using Windows 11, dual monitors, and specialized software.
