We coordinate freight shipments and work to provide dependable service, competitive transportation solutions, and strong customer relationships. We are seeking motivated and business-minded Freight Broker Agents to help develop shipper relationships, secure freight opportunities, coordinate transportation, and grow our brokerage business. Position Overview The Freight Broker Agent will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying freight opportunities, negotiating shipping rates, and coordinating shipments between shippers and qualified motor carriers. This opportunity is suitable for experienced freight professionals as well as motivated salespeople with strong communication and negotiation skills who are willing to learn the freight brokerage industry.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and contact potential shippers, manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers. Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers. Generate freight opportunities and request shipping quotes. Negotiate customer pricing and carrier rates to support profitable shipments. Identify and communicate with qualified transportation carriers. Coordinate shipment pickups, deliveries, and tracking. Maintain accurate customer records and shipment documentation. Provide professional customer service and resolve transportation issues. Follow company procedures and applicable transportation regulations.
Qualifications
Strong communication, sales, and negotiation skills. Ability to build relationships and generate new business. Reliable, organized, and self-motivated. Comfortable making outbound calls and contacting prospective customers. Freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or sales experience is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Willingness to learn freight brokerage software, load boards, and company procedures.
