Front-End Engineer (React, Redux)

๐ŸŒ Remote ยท United States ๐Ÿ’ผ Full-time

About the Company

Element Six is recruiting on behalf of an established enterprise SaaS company that develops a building analytics platform. The platform uses large volumes of live equipment data across complex property portfolios to help operators improve equipment performance, energy efficiency, and day-to-day building operations. The product turns complex operational data into actionable insights, combining charts, tables, and workflows in an interface designed to help users make informed decisions.

About the Role

The company is seeking a Front-End Engineering Manager to lead a team of three senior front-end engineers while remaining actively involved in development. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will guide technical direction, maintain high engineering standards, and influence how the product evolves. This is a hands-on player-coach role for an experienced engineering manager who wants to stay close to the code or a Principal or Lead Front-End Engineer ready to take on formal team leadership. You will work closely with Product from the early stages of an idea, helping define problems, explore solutions, prototype workflows, and deliver features through four-week sprints. As the platform moves beyond passive analytics toward greater control and intervention, you will also help shape user experiences that make complex information easier to understand and act on confidently.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support three senior front-end engineers while contributing directly to the platform. Own front-end architecture, code quality, performance, scalability, security, and user experience standards. Review pull requests, resolve technical blockers, and make architectural decisions that support long-term product development. Partner with Product early in the development process to translate operational challenges into prototypes, workflows, and production features. Improve how complex operational data is filtered, visualized, and presented without overwhelming users. Manage day-to-day engineering practices, including planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and delivery across four-week sprints. Introduce practical AI-assisted development workflows while maintaining appropriate technical oversight and code-review standards. Collaborate with back-end engineering and QA teams to improve testing, CI/CD processes, and release quality. Help guide the technical evolution of a data-intensive SaaS platform as its capabilities expand.

Required Qualifications

Deep, recent hands-on front-end engineering experience with React and modern JavaScript. Strong technical judgment and the ability to review code, guide senior engineers, and take ownership of critical functionality. Experience making front-end architecture decisions in a production enterprise SaaS environment. Working knowledge beyond the component layer, including API integration, automated testing, CI/CD, security, performance, and scalability. Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to engineers. Experience working closely with Product teams and contributing to UI, UX, and workflow decisions. Experience building interfaces for large, real-time, operational, or otherwise complex datasets. Practical experience using AI coding tools, including an understanding of how generated code should be structured, tested, and reviewed. Willingness to remain actively involved in coding and regular pull-request reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Highcharts or Kendo React UI. Familiarity with Azure, time-series data, or building systems. Experience with building technology is useful but not required. Salary and Benefits The base salary range is $170,000โ€“$190,000 per year, plus benefits. Location and Work Arrangement Remote within the United States. Who This Role Suits This position is best suited to a technical leader who enjoys working directly with code, guiding experienced engineers, and influencing product decisions. It may be less suitable for candidates seeking a purely managerial position, those who prefer to work only from finalized requirements, or those whose experience is focused primarily on visual implementation without broader ownership of architecture, testing, security, and delivery. Application Process Element Six is inviting interested candidates to apply for a confidential conversation about the opportunity.
