Full Stack Python Developer ( 100 % Remote )
About the Role
Our client, a large insurance firm, is seeking a Lead Full Stack Python Developer for a long-term contract with an option to hire. This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting complex applications, web services, and integrations across interconnected enterprise systems. The developer will deliver scalable frontend, backend, and cloud solutions while maintaining data quality, system integrity, and technical documentation. The role also involves using AI-powered development tools to improve software delivery, code quality, and engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps environments. Build backend services and APIs primarily using Python, while contributing to frontend interfaces using React JS or Angular as needed. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform. Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and implement root-cause fixes. Write, validate, and modify code and scripts to support internal and external company systems in collaboration with Database Administration and Technical Services teams. Partner with the Database Administrator to design SQL Server tables, maintain data integrity, and develop stored procedures, SSRS, and SSIS packages. Provide operational backup for routine database maintenance. Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to plan and deliver features. Review code to maintain development quality and share technical knowledge with other developers. Improve deployment reliability, observability, and system performance. Contribute to architecture decisions and technical roadmap planning. Lead the conceptualization and development of new programs, web applications, and web service integrations, including API development and management. Create logical diagrams outlining current-state and future-state systems. Lead LifePRO application support, including evaluating, testing, and deploying periodic system releases and new functionality. Monitor resource utilization across programs, web applications, web services, and other systems. Use AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to support software development. Data Quality and Testing Develop and execute effective testing plans at program and system levels. Monitor assigned applications and programs, diagnosing and correcting logic and coding errors. Review production data and reports to verify scheduled job completion, data quality, and data integrity. Documentation Create and maintain documentation for assigned web applications, programs, and other systems in accordance with departmental and team standards. Maintain disaster recovery and data center instructions. Prepare and maintain design and architecture documentation. Develop and maintain technical standards and best-practice documentation. Produce special reports upon request. Required Skills and Technologies Full-stack development using Python and React JS or Angular. Amazon Web Services (AWS). Terraform and infrastructure management.
