Head of ICT - work in the intersection of AI and Blockchain innovation Reports to: COO | Function: Operations / ICT | Location: USA About the role Our client, a fast-growing, remote-first technology company in the blockchain and AI space, is looking for a senior, hands-on Head of ICT to run its ICT function end to end. You’ll own everything that keeps people connected, secure and productive: identity and access, endpoints, networks, collaboration tools, SaaS, hardware, and the security across all of it. This is an AI-first ICT role. The business wants to be known for how it uses AI, and ICT is where that becomes real. That means AI-enabled service desk, agentic onboarding and offboarding workflows, automated endpoint management and intelligent monitoring. You’ll automate what should be automated and use the time saved to raise the bar on security, resilience and user experience. What you’ll do AI and automation: Set the standard for AI-enabled ICT. Find processes to simplify, automate or retire, and test before scaling. Software security: Own IAM (SSO, MFA, conditional access), SaaS security posture, endpoint protection, patching, vulnerability management and incident response. Support SOC 2 / ISO 27001 with Engineering, Legal and Compliance. Hardware security: Own MDM, endpoint hardening, encryption and the secure device lifecycle for a global workforce. Protect specialist hardware such as HSMs and signing devices. Identity and data protection: Run joiners/movers/leavers workflows, least-privilege access and access reviews. Own data classification, DLP and backup, and partner on GDPR. Service desk and UX: Deliver fast, high-quality support across time zones, and track resolution times, satisfaction and automation rates. SaaS, infrastructure and budget: Own the SaaS estate, networks, VPNs and vendors. Manage the ICT budget, rationalise licences and report to senior leadership. Risk and governance: Maintain ICT risk, policies, business continuity and disaster recovery planning. Leadership: Build and develop the ICT function and shape how it scales as the business grows. What you’ll bring 10+ years of progressive ICT experience, including senior leadership, ideally as the most senior ICT leader in a mid-sized organisation Deep, hands-on expertise in both software and hardware security Strong knowledge of SSO/MFA, zero-trust principles, cloud/SaaS platforms, and device and network management at scale Confidence configuring systems and deploying AI agents and automations into ICT operations Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001 or equivalent Strong vendor, budget and stakeholder management Experience in a remote-first, globally distributed organisation Sound judgement on confidential and high-impact matters, and excellent communication skills Nice to have: Experience in blockchain or other deep-tech environments. CISSP, CISM, Security+ or equivalent. A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Salary - $200-250,000 USD plus benefits and 401k
