Core Services SCADA Engineering & Integration: designing, developing, upgrading and supporting SCADA systems Industrial Automation: improving operational efficiency through automation and control systems OT/IT Integration: connecting industrial equipment and operational systems with enterprise technology Custom Software & AI Solutions: applications, automation tools and data-driven solutions Engineering & Project Support: specialized technical expertise and supplemental engineering resources The Role We're hiring a contract Ignition SCADA engineer to upgrade legacy Wonderware (AVEVA InTouch) HMIs at operating solar and storage sites into standardized Ignition Perspective templates. You'll work in a NERC CIP-regulated environment alongside our engineers and the client's operations team, taking each site from tag database to screens to sign-off. Engagement $60–90/hr depending on experience, contract (W-2 or 1099/corp-to-corp) 6-month initial project, with potential to extend Up to 40 hours/week Remote, but you must live and work in the United States (required for NERC CIP compliance; no access from outside the U.S.). South Florida (West Palm Beach area) preferred Occasional site travel, expenses reimbursed Company-issued laptop provided What you'll do day to day Upgrade legacy Wonderware/InTouch HMI applications into standardized Ignition HMI templates and UDTs Review existing screens, scripts and tag databases, and map them to Ignition tag structures and naming standards Build Perspective screens: site overviews, one-line diagrams, inverter, meter, met station and BESS pages, alarm and trend views Configure OPC (Kepware/TOP Server, OPC UA) and Modbus TCP/RTU device communications Validate live values side by side against the legacy system before cutover, and track down every mismatch Support UAT with the client's operations team and document as-builts under CIP change control Track your work in tickets and give short daily status updates Required 2+ years building Ignition applications (Perspective and/or Vision), including UDTs, templates, alarming and historian Hands-on OPC and Modbus configuration; comfortable reading device register maps Python/Jython scripting in Ignition and working SQL Strong troubleshooting across controls, networks and servers Clear written communication and the discipline to work independently and remotely Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future. We do not sponsor H-1B or other work visas Must reside in and work from the United States for the duration of the engagement (NERC CIP) Able to pass a background check (identity verification and 7-year criminal history) and complete NERC CIP cyber security training before access is granted Bachelor's in Electrical, Automation or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience Preferred Wonderware/AVEVA InTouch or System Platform experience SCADA on solar, BESS, wind or substation sites Prior work in NERC CIP-regulated environments Ignition Gold or Core certification PLC experience: Schneider Modicon DNP3 or IEC 61850 RHEL Linux and industrial networking (VLANs, managed switches) Based in or near West Palm Beach, FL Security & Equipment We ship you a company-managed laptop.
