Interpreter- In-Person & Remote (1099 Independent Contractor) Los Angeles & Surrounding Areas

Resolute Language Group About us: Resolute Language Group is an interpretation agency providing in-person and remote interpreting and translation for medical, legal, immigration and business settings. We are growing our team of qualified and certified language professionals in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, including Orange County, the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, Long Beach and the Inland Empire. Remote applicants are also welcome. Positions available: Spoken language interpreters (in-person, phone and video) American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, including Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDI) Document translators Languages needed (all welcome, especially): Spanish, ASL, Armenian, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi, Russian, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Arabic, Japanese, Khmer, Punjabi, Hindi and other languages of lesser diffusion. What you'll do: Interpret in person at medical appointments, legal and immigration meetings, and business events Interpret remotely by phone (OPI) and video (VRI) Translate documents accurately (medical, legal, immigration and business) Follow professional ethics, impartiality and confidentiality standards Arrive on time and represent Resolute Language Group professionally Required qualifications: Fluency in English and at least one other language (or ASL) Professional interpreting or translation experience Current certification or professional qualification in your specialty (see below) Certifications by specialty Medical interpreters: CCHI (CoreCHI or CHI) or NBCMI (CMI) certification, or completion of a 40+ hour medical interpreter training program Legal and immigration interpreters: California Certified Court Interpreter or Registered Interpreter (Judicial Council of California), or Federally Certified Court Interpreter ASL interpreters: RID certification (NIC or CDI) or BEI certification; legal specialty preferred for court and legal settings Translators: ATA certification, or a degree or certificate in translation with proven professional experience Additional requirements Reliable transportation for in-person assignments in the Los Angeles area For remote work: a computer, headset, quiet private space and stable internet connection What we offer: Flexible schedule. All assignments are scheduled in advance, with no on-demand calls 2-hour minimum paid for every interpreting assignment Late-cancellation protection: if a client cancels less than 24 hours before the assignment, you are still paid the 2-hour minimum How to apply: Apply through Indeed with your resume.
