About the Role
Kforce is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a remote position with a client focused on modernizing critical transaction and processing platforms. The role will support the transformation of legacy systems and the migration of services to a modern cloud-based architecture. You will develop scalable microservices, enhance high-volume transaction processing capabilities, and collaborate with teams responsible for order management, point-of-sale (POS), pricing, and booking systems. The position also involves working with AI-enabled solutions and reviewing AI-generated code to maintain software quality, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 21+ and Spring Boot. Support legacy application modernization and the migration of payment systems to a centralized pricing and transaction platform. Build and enhance services that process high-volume retail transaction and order data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate order management, point-of-sale (POS), pricing, and booking systems. Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability using cloud-native technologies. Use data-driven and AI-enabled solutions to enhance system capabilities and development processes. Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, and code reviews. Evaluate and improve AI-generated code to ensure quality, maintainability, and security. Required Qualifications 4–7+ years of Java development experience, including Java 21 or later. Strong expertise in Spring Boot. Strong cloud technology experience, with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders in a fast-paced Agile environment. Strong business acumen and the ability to work with stakeholders to understand business needs. Compensation is determined by factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, applicable union contracts, and business needs. The position is not eligible for bonuses, incentives, or commissions. Compensation is subject to the terms and conditions outlined by Kforce.
