About the Role
Kreative Technologies is hiring a Senior Java Developer for a full-time, remote position. The role focuses on designing and developing Java applications, microservices, and REST APIs while providing technical leadership across development projects. You will help establish coding and security standards, review code, troubleshoot complex production issues, and improve application performance and reliability. The position also involves creating technical designs, estimating work, mentoring developers, and collaborating with DevOps teams to improve build and deployment processes. The ideal candidate has strong Java development experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop complex Java applications, microservices, and REST APIs. Create technical designs, break development work into tasks, and prepare estimates. Lead code reviews and uphold coding and security standards. Improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability. Investigate and resolve complex production issues. Mentor Java developers and support their professional growth. Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve build and deployment pipelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Use common office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, and printers, as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. At least 7 years of Java development experience. Strong experience with Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs. Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or Db2. Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with containers and cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure. Oracle Certified Professional Java certification. Experience supporting federal government contracts. Location & Work Arrangement This is a full-time, remote position. Salary & Benefits The annual compensation range is $91,569–$101,743.
