Java Engineer, Sr. - WFH
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer for a fully remote position focused on implementing and integrating order management system (OMS) capabilities. The role involves building order management functionality and connecting systems across eCommerce, marketplaces, warehouses, fulfillment operations, ERP platforms, and other business applications. The ideal candidate has strong Java development skills, experience with REST APIs and distributed systems, and an understanding of complex transactional workflows. You will help deliver reliable order management solutions, resolve integration challenges, and contribute to technical design and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Implement order management system features and order lifecycle management functionality. Integrate REST API-based solutions with eCommerce platforms, marketplaces, warehouses, fulfillment systems, ERP platforms, and other applications. Develop and maintain order fulfillment, inventory, returns, and refund processes. Address regional business requirements and differences in fulfillment operations. Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues and production incidents. Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and ongoing engineering improvements. Support reliable data exchange and integration across distributed business systems.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience in Java development. Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and connected systems. Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Solid SQL skills and understanding of relational databases. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. Experience with order management, commerce platforms, or other complex transactional systems. Experience with Fluent OMS or comparable order management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). Experience with warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics system integrations. Experience working with marketplaces or marketplace integration platforms. Knowledge of inventory management, order fulfillment, returns, and refund workflows. Experience integrating SAP or other ERP systems. Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka. Cloud development or integration experience with AWS or Azure. Experience delivering international or multi-region eCommerce implementations. Work Arrangement This is a fully remote position.
