Job Title: Medical Coding & Autonomous Coding Expert Location: Remote Visa: Any Job Description: Seeking experienced Medical Coding SMEs/Experts with strong hands-on expertise in Surgery, Anesthesia, Orthopedics, and Inpatient Medical Coding. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, modifiers, clinical documentation guidelines, and coding compliance. The ideal candidate will evaluate AI/autonomous medical coding recommendations against clinical charts and physician documentation, identify coding errors and documentation gaps, and provide expert feedback to improve coding accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Independently review clinical documentation and assign accurate medical codes. Validate AI-generated coding recommendations and identify inaccuracies. Review complex surgical, anesthesia, orthopedic, and inpatient coding cases. Identify missing documentation, coding gaps, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities. Test and provide feedback on autonomous coding platforms. Required Skills: Strong expertise in medical coding across the specified specialties. In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and modifiers. Experience with coding audits, documentation review, and compliance. Experience evaluating AI-assisted or autonomous coding solutions is highly desirable. Familiarity with platforms such as Fathom, CodaMetrix, Nym, or similar solutions.
