About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled VoIP Network Engineer to join our team remotely. This role involves supporting KTS and our government client by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust VoIP and network systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in voice over IP technologies, network security, and infrastructure management. As a VoIP Network Engineer, you will collaborate with IT managers to assess networking needs, analyze existing systems, and develop architecture plans that enhance voice and data communication capabilities. Your expertise will be crucial in installing and troubleshooting network hardware, designing Cisco Unity systems, and ensuring the security and scalability of the network infrastructure. The role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute effectively from any location.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field Previous experience working as a VoIP network engineer In-depth knowledge of VoIP systems and IP Protocols Experience with hardware systems including servers, memory modules, processors, and peripherals Strong understanding of network security systems and protocols Good project management skills Familiarity with WAN and LAN systems Excellent troubleshooting skills Advanced written and verbal communication skills Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Responsibilities
Meet with IT managers to determine the company's networking needs and requirements Analyze existing VoIP networks and computer systems to identify areas for improvement Develop architecture plans for voice and data services that align with organizational goals Install and configure network hardware modules, including IP and PBX communication servers Design and implement Cisco Unity Systems to support unified communication solutions Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP network issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime Analyze and upgrade network security systems and protocols to protect against threats Add network users and manage permissions to maintain security and efficiency Optimize network installations to support future expansion and scalability Train staff on network protocols, system usage, and security best practices Optional: Support and configure Mitel VoIP systems as needed
