# Power BI Developer ## About the Role We are seeking a Power BI Developer to develop, optimize, and deploy business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The role focuses on Power BI development, data modeling, semantic models, DAX, report security, performance optimization, and integration with a variety of data sources. The Power BI Developer will work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into reporting solutions, and deliver effective data visualizations and analytics. ## Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Power BI reports and business intelligence solutions. Design and work with data models and Power BI semantic models. Develop complex calculations and measures using DAX. Deploy and manage reports through Power BI Service. Implement Power BI security features, including: Row-Level Security (RLS) Column-Level Security Optimize Power BI reports and underlying data models for performance. Use DAX Studio and Tabular Editor for Power BI development and optimization. Connect Power BI to diverse data sources, including: APIs BigQuery ArcGIS SQL databases Excel Streaming datasets Use advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis and reporting. Work with Azure DevOps and source/version control processes. Gather business and technical requirements from stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Communicate and present technical information and data insights clearly. Apply AI tools and technologies where relevant to the role. ## Required Qualifications Strong professional experience in Power BI development. Strong understanding of data modeling and Power BI semantic models. Proficiency with DAX. Experience with Power BI Service and report deployment. Experience with Power BI security, including row-level and column-level security. Experience optimizing Power BI reports and data models. Experience with DAX Studio and Tabular Editor. Experience connecting Power BI to data sources such as APIs, BigQuery, ArcGIS, SQL databases, Excel, and/or streaming datasets. Strong Excel skills, including: Complex formulas Pivot tables Data analysis Familiarity with Azure DevOps and source/version control. Ability to gather requirements and work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills.
