[Remote] Accounting Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. West Physics is hiring a full-time Accounting Specialist to support its financial operations. The role maintains financial records, processes accounts payable and receivable, reconciles accounts, assists with closing activities, and supports financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Collections of past due invoices as well as achievement of aggressive DSO goals set by the company. These conversations/interactions require a high level of tact & the ability to communicate effectively
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Process and maintain confidential financial records, reports, and documents; plan and protect the security of information, data, and files
• Support budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Answer customer calls, file maintenance, copying, faxing, data entry, and assisting with office responsibilities as needed
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Skills

• The candidate must be looking for a long-term employment opportunity
• 2-3 years of professional experience in an accounting or bookkeeping position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Candidate must be willing and open to learn new tools and take on new responsibilities as the role grows
• Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
• Experience with Apple/Macintosh computers preferred
