[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Lockwood Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to support end-to-end accounts payable processing, vendor management, and employee expenses. The role helps maintain cash flow and accurate financial reporting by processing invoices and expense reports, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with audits and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, including appropriate GL coding and approvals, and maintain vendor records
• Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve discrepancies
• Review W-9s and assist with new vendor setup
• Process and review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries and work collaboratively to resolve issues
• Assist with audit requests, reporting, and ad hoc analysis
• Communicate proactively with commercial teams to identify and resolve discrepancies

Skills

• Foundational understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry accounting and accrual versus cash accounting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and good judgment when handling confidential information
• Working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to accurate, reliable work
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Prior accounts payable or related accounting experience
• Familiarity with Advantage, QuickBooks and/or Sage
