Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Conrad builds voice and SMS AI agents for small and medium businesses, particularly in complex industries such as mortgage. The Backend Engineer will own the backend API, AI agents, infrastructure, and integrations, including building, deploying, and maintaining production systems.
Responsibilities
- You're confident owning the backend: the API, the AI agents, infrastructure, and integrations
- A track record of owning a system alone: shipping it, deploying it, and fixing it when it breaks
Skills
- Python backend experience (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres)
- Production AWS experience, including infrastructure as code
- Hands-on work with messaging, voice, and payments APIs
- Experience building with LLMs in production
- A track record of owning a system alone: shipping it, deploying it, and fixing it when it breaks
- Scrappy. You figure things out without a big team and ship fast
- Trustworthy. You'll work near customer data and payments
- Hungry. You want to help build a company, not just close tickets
