[Remote] Business Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The hiring client is confidential. The senior-level Business Analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and software development team, eliciting and managing requirements throughout the software development life cycle and verifying their fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Elicitation - Elicits requirements using joint application development (JAD), requirements workshops, interviews, document analysis, storyboards, surveys, site visits, use cases, scenarios, competitive product analysis, and task and workflow analysis
• Analysis - Uses sophisticated analysis techniques to identify user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems
• Requirements Writing - Transforms information from elicitation sessions into business requirements and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and software requirements specifications documents. Uses standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language
• Visual Output - Visually transforms information from elicitation sessions into process flows, context diagrams, UML diagrams, wireframes, and mockups
• Managing Work - Uses initiative and independent judgment to actively participate in the software development lifecycle, including managing deadlines, following change control procedures, tracking requirement status, coordinating UAT, and maintaining requirement traceability

Skills

• 8 years - Experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements
• 8 years - Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
• 8 years - Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience
• 8 years - Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
• 8 years - Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
• 8 years - Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
• 8 years - Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
• 4 years - Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira"
• 3 years - Documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements"
• 2 years - Experience supporting complaint and case management workflows, including intake, investigation, and resolution
• 2 years - Experience with educator certification process, federal/state grant programs, or state funding program
