Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking a Business Analyst 3 to support its Mainframe Reports and Extract initiative. The role focuses on gathering and validating requirements, analyzing data, developing reports and extracts, and supporting data publishing using Power BI and Snowflake.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and technical requirements
- Develop and support reports, data extracts, and reporting solutions
- Perform data analysis and root cause analysis to identify and resolve data errors
- Document data flows, business processes, and technical requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to design effective solutions
- Support report development using Power BI and Snowflake
- Assist with publishing data to the DIR Open Data Portal and the RRC website
- Develop and support user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and implementation activities
- Ensure deliverables meet established quality standards, processes, and business analysis methodologies
- Work independently with minimal supervision and provide guidance to other team members when required
Skills
- 8+ years of experience in gathering requirements and developing reports
- 8+ years of experience facilitating business requirements analysis and collaborating with business stakeholders to design technical solutions
- 8+ years of strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- 5+ years of experience supporting or guiding UAT, training, and implementation activities
- 2+ years of experience with Snowflake and Power BI
- 2+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience with Railroad Commission of Texas systems or related oil and gas data
- Experience with data publishing, reporting, and data extract initiatives
