[Remote] CMDB & IT Asset Management Administrator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cognizant is hiring a CMDB & IT Asset Management Administrator to administer its ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus CMDB and oversee IT asset lifecycle management. The role supports ITSM processes, discovery and reconciliation, governance and compliance, and reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the CMDB within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus
• Create and manage Configuration Items (CIs) and CI relationship mapping
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness of CMDB records
• Maintain logical and physical relationships between:
• Perform regular CMDB audits, reconciliation, and validation activities
• Establish CI lifecycle management standards and governance processes
• Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets from procurement through retirement
• Maintain asset inventory records within ServiceDesk Plus
• Track hardware, software, cloud, and virtual assets
• Monitor asset utilization, warranty status, ownership, and compliance
• Ensure asset disposition and retirement processes follow governance standards
• Support software asset management and license compliance activities
• Support discovery tool integrations and automated asset population
• Validate discovered assets against CMDB records
• Reconcile discrepancies between inventory sources and CMDB
• Maintain asset normalization standards
• Develop procedures to prevent duplicate asset creation
• Support Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Request Management teams through accurate CMDB data
• Conduct impact analysis for change requests using CI relationships
• Assist root cause analysis utilizing service dependency mapping
• Support Major Incident and Problem Management investigations
• Define CMDB and Asset Management policies, standards, and procedures
• Establish configuration baselines and auditing mechanisms
• Support regulatory, contractual, and internal compliance requirements
• Participate in customer audits, governance reviews, and operational assessments
• Produce asset inventory and CMDB compliance reports
• Develop dashboards and reports for:
• Support executive and customer governance reporting requirements
