Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ABB is a global market leader whose Robotics business develops advanced robotic solutions. The Computer Applications Engineer will support sales teams in the Western region by designing robotic solutions, developing server applications, conducting proof-of-concepts and demonstrations, and collaborating with customers and internal teams. The role requires expertise in JavaScript, REST, Linux, Python, AI modeling, and client/server application development, with up to 35% regional travel.
Responsibilities
- Work with sales to review customer requirements, propose and design robotic solutions
- Showcase proof of concept and other demonstrations and presentations to customers
- Develop server applications that drive the robots, AI modeling, and strong understanding of automation engineering and mechatronics
- Ensure all solutions comply with customer specs and any code requirements
- Collaborate with customers, internal teams and potentially third party to address any issues, handle any changes in proposal or other documentation and alignment on requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's in engineering or computer science with 5+ years in developing client/server applications
- Must be competent on Java script, REST, Linux, and Python
- Must be competent on AI modeling (data sets, labeling, training)
- Comfortable presenting and interacting with all levels of customers as well as peer teams (sales, project management, etc.)
- Travel: 35% travel is required for this position
- Mechatronic engineering knowledge is desirable
- Automation engineering knowledge is desirable
