[Remote] Data Analyst Intern

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Texas Oncology, part of The US Oncology Network, provides evidence-based community oncology care across Texas. The Data Analyst Intern will assist with collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting financial, operational, clinical, and healthcare data while supporting reports, dashboards, analytical tools, and data-driven business insights.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, validating, and organizing data from various internal systems and databases
• Support the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analytical tools
• Perform data cleansing, quality assurance, and data validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities under the guidance of senior team members
• Assist in the development of key operational and financial metrics and recurring management reports
• Create reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and presentations to communicate analytical findings to business stakeholders
• Support ad hoc and special projects related to financial, operational, and clinical analytics
• Document data definitions, business rules, processes, and analytical methodologies
• Collaborate with team members to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and training opportunities
• Other duties and projects assigned

Skills

• This internship is a remote role and requires the candidate to reside within Texas, with a preference to candidates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
• • Basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts
• • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
• • Non-Technical Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
• • Currently pursuing bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited program in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Healthcare Administration - must be graduating between December 2027 through May 2028
• • Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

• Preferred Skills: Exposure to healthcare analytics, financial analytics, business intelligence, or data science coursework preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and data visualization tools; exposure to Python, R, or other analytical programming languages
