[Remote] Data Center Electrical Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EDZ Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of large-scale data center projects. This role leads electrical design efforts, collaborates with engineering and field teams, works directly with clients, and provides technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design efforts for large-scale data center projects from concept through detailed design
• Develop and review electrical drawings, layouts, models, calculations, specifications, and engineering reports
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools to develop and review design deliverables
• Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, field personnel, and clients to deliver projects on scope, schedule, and budget
• Provide technical guidance related to data center redundancy, resiliency, and reliability
• Conduct field surveys and evaluate existing facilities and conditions
• Review drawings and 3D models for accuracy, constructability, code compliance, and customer requirements
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and client requirements
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and technical studies as required
• Identify and resolve design issues and help develop practical solutions to ambiguous or evolving requirements
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project requirements
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and technical execution
• Support business development activities, including scopes of work, level-of-effort estimates, and site visits

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
• 11+ years of related engineering experience
• Strong electrical engineering design experience
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
• Experience with BIM-based design and 3D modeling
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles, applicable codes, standards, and design guides
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and engineering deliverables
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and provide guidance to engineers and designers
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred/required based on applicable position and location
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams, and step into a leadership role when needed
• Candidates should have significant hands-on electrical engineering/design experience in complex facilities
• Data center design experience
• Understanding of data center redundancy, resiliency, and reliability
• Experience with hyperscale, edge, and colocation data centers
• Knowledge of data center Tier rating systems
• Advanced Revit experience, including 3D modeling, worksets, view templates, project phasing, and custom families/parameters
• Experience with BIM 360 and Navisworks
• Experience leading project schedules, budgets, staffing, and client interactions
• Experience mentoring and developing early-career engineers and designers
• Experience supporting proposals, scopes of work, and business development activities
• With data center experience strongly preferred
