Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mountain Top Talent LLC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of software applications, tools, and frameworks for unmanned systems within Department of Defense programs. The role focuses on embedded software development, software and hardware integration, full lifecycle product development, testing, requirements, security, and collaboration in secure and regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Follow the full lifecycle software development process
- Develop functional, interface and technical requirements and use cases
- Perform software verification by developing automated testing procedures, solutions and frameworks
- Perform user acceptance testing
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Look for security vulnerabilities in coding
- Collaborate with team members, project leads and customers
- Use AI and other tools to accelerate learning and create deliverables
Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of embedded software development
- Strong interest in development of embedded software applications
- Strong interest in defense systems, aviation, unmanned systems, or ground vehicle technologies
- Basic understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle
- Experience with one or more languages: C++, C, Java, Kotlin
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Experience with UML or SysML
- Experience with virtual and cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with software IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse) and git
- Experience with Android application development
