Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ApTask is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Customer Studio product, a no-code platform for turning warehouse customer data into personalized marketing experiences. The role combines hands-on software development with engineering team leadership, product roadmap ownership, hiring, coaching, and improvements to delivery and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop approximately 4–5 engineers, owning delivery and supporting individual growth
- Stay hands-on by writing production code, reviewing designs and solving technical problems when the team needs it
- Own the roadmap for capabilities such as warehouse performance, analytics and experimentation, real-time audience syncing and generative AI workflows
- Hire engineers, shape candidate evaluation, coach team members and manage performance
- Improve shipping speed and reliability through observability, proactive issue detection and strong incident management
Skills
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of formal engineering management
- Experience building products at a high-growth startup or scale-up, or as a founder
- Current ability to contribute code directly and make sound architecture and system design decisions
- Direct ownership of hiring, coaching, career development and performance management
- Strong communication, product judgment and ownership in a fast-changing environment
- Data warehouses, SQL, Reverse ETL, customer data platforms, change data capture, analytics, experimentation or generative AI
- A strong progression of responsibility
- A top-tier computer science education
