Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Growing Groves is partnering with a leader in heat treat equipment manufacturing to hire a Field Service Engineer. The role supports aftermarket services and new equipment installations, serving as a liaison between customers and internal engineering teams while traveling regularly to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Consistent travel to customer sites (average 3 days for service, longer for installs)
- Service and support of the atmospheric and vacuum heat treat equipment lines
- New machine install, set up, and first run
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams with complex support/install needs
- Coordinate layout with customer for new installs
- Provide operation demonstration to customers
- When not traveling, use home office to support remote customer issues, revise internal documentation, etc
Skills
- • 5+ years of proven industrial field service experience on heavy capital equipment
- • Deep mechanical experience w/ interest or experience in learning electrical
- • Strong aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship-driven business
- • Willingness to regularly travel to customer sites
- • Self-directed and organized with the ability to work independently
- • Strong oral and written communication skills
- • Related engineering degree
- • Experience with heat treat equipment (or thermal processing, industrial HVAC, etc.)
- • Experience with PLCs
