[Remote] Financial Controller

The Financial Controller oversees financial health, reporting accuracy, general accounting operations, budgeting, audits, internal controls, and strategic financial planning in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the company’s financial health and reporting accuracy
• Manages the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensures timely and compliant financial reporting
• Oversees general accounting operations
• Monitoring budgets
• Analyzing financial performance
• Reconciling accounts
• Supporting audits and regulatory filings
• Collaborates with leadership to provide financial insights
• Improve internal controls
• Support strategic planning
• Maintaining clear documentation and efficient financial processes in a remote work environment

Skills

• Candidates should possess strong Accounting and Finance skills, including knowledge of GAAP and experience with budgeting and cost control
• Candidates should possess skills in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, including preparation, analysis, and regulatory compliance
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions
• Relevant experience with accounting software and ERP systems, advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, and strong attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams
• CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
• Experience in construction, environmental services, or a related industry is beneficial
