[Remote] Financial Reporting Manager/Senior Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Better is hiring a Financial Reporting Manager/Senior Manager to support external and internal financial reporting and corporate ledger accounts. The role prepares SEC and stakeholder reporting, supports month-end close and accounting operations, and drives process improvements while collaborating with teams, auditors, and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Work on quarterly 10-Q’s and annual 10-K’s for SEC financial reporting as well as build out required disclosures and supporting schedules for footnotes, MD&A, and 8-K’s/earnings release
• Work on monthly financial reporting for our different regulatory and credit stakeholders
• Participate in month end closing by taking ownership of key corporate level accounts
• Collaborate with team members to provide useful and necessary financial reports
• Create and review journal entries in the GL along with preparing and reviewing supporting schedules
• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including investigating aged or unreconciled items
• Investigate and resolve both current and historical issues with our revenue transactions
• Implement accounting guidance for new accounting standard updates or initiatives
• Identify areas for improvement and drive process improvements
• Work with our external auditors to ensure the timely completion of reviews and audits
• Educate coworkers regarding financial practices, implications, and policies
• Provide ad hoc analysis support to business leaders and key partners for complex accounting questions
• Serve as a mentor and resource to more junior team members

Skills

• Degree in accounting or finance
• 5-7 years of experience in a public accounting firm or publicly traded company
• At least 1 year of management experience
• CPA eligible
• Adaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment
• Proven expertise with Excel (combining large data sets, sumifs, index/match, vlookups, etc)
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, without losing attention to detail
• Proactively looking to improve on processes; never satisfied with the status quo
• Stakeholder management skills
• CPA license
• Familiarity with SQL
• Experience working with Netsuite
• Experience working in Workiva Wdesk
• Experience with industries such as financial technology, mortgage banking, or lending
