[Remote] Lead Product Designer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Samsara builds software for physical operations through its Connected Operations Cloud. The Lead Product Designer will own design for strategic product initiatives, shaping web and mobile experiences from problem framing through launch and iteration in partnership with product, engineering, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, ambiguous initiatives, from problem framing through launch and iteration
• Demonstrate good judgement and taste in your deliverables
• Regularly meet and engage with our most strategic customers to bring the customer voice alongside product data into product decisions
• Leverage AI tools through every step of the process, defining new ways of working
• Stay well informed on the emerging trends, tools, and technology
• Ship code to production across our design system, web products, and mobile apps
• Lead through building, not politics

Skills

• 8+ years of product design experience designing UX/UI for web and mobile applications
• A portfolio with case studies that show how you approached an ambiguous, multi-part problem and what happened after you shipped
• Deep interaction and visual design skills, with the judgment to know when to use an established pattern and when to invent one
• AI tools in your regular design practice (e.g., Cursor, Figma Make), with shipped work you can attribute to them
• Experience mentoring designers, formally or informally
• Direct customer research experience, and comfort using it to make product decisions
• Experience shipping with cross-functional teams on short cycles
