Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Law Review Cite-Checker to review citation-checking rubrics and create realistic cite-checking tasks. The role applies Bluebook rules, flags ambiguous cases, and delivers accurate work on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Review citation-checking rubrics for unclear or inconsistent rules
- Identify edge cases not covered by existing grading rubrics
- Create sample cite-checking tasks with realistic errors
- Build tasks with varying citation types and difficulty levels
- Apply Bluebook rules consistently across all submissions
- Flag ambiguous cases to project coordinators for clarification
- Deliver assigned work on schedule and ensure quality standards
Skills
- Experience with catching citation errors and cite-checking
- Prior law journal or law review editing experience
- Current or recent enrollment in law school or JD graduate
- Strong knowledge of The Bluebook citation rules
- Ability to explain errors in citations, not just identify them
- Comfortable working independently with attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines without close supervision
