Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SoTalent is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build intelligent marketplace systems and data-driven pricing solutions. The role focuses on developing scalable backend platforms, machine learning-powered pricing engines, distributed systems, experimentation infrastructure, and production model operations to improve marketplace efficiency and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable pricing platforms and backend services that support dynamic marketplace operations
- Build and enhance pricing engines that leverage machine learning models, optimization techniques, and real-time data signals
- Develop infrastructure that enables experimentation, simulation, testing, and deployment of pricing strategies
- Collaborate with data scientists, economists, product managers, and engineers to translate pricing concepts into production-ready solutions
- Implement distributed systems capable of processing large-scale marketplace and operational data efficiently
- Support the deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of machine learning models in production environments
- Optimize pricing algorithms to improve marketplace performance, resource utilization, profitability, and user experience
- Develop tools and dashboards that provide visibility into pricing performance, experimentation results, and key business metrics
- Establish monitoring, observability, and alerting frameworks to ensure platform reliability and operational excellence
- Evaluate and improve system scalability, performance, and resilience across high-volume production environments
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and strategic planning initiatives
- Drive engineering best practices including testing, automation, code quality, and documentation
Skills
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems and distributed applications
- • Strong experience designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs
- • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Go, or similar
- • Experience working with distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and high-scale services
- • Knowledge of machine learning deployment, model integration, and production system architecture
- • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles
- • Experience analyzing data and implementing data-driven product or operational solutions
- • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities
- • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline
- • Experience developing pricing, recommendation, optimization, or marketplace systems
- • Knowledge of optimization algorithms, forecasting models, and supply-demand balancing techniques
- • Experience deploying and managing machine learning models in production
- • Familiarity with ride-sharing, logistics, e-commerce, transportation, or marketplace platforms
- • Strong proficiency in C++ or performance-critical backend development environments
- • Experience designing experimentation frameworks and A/B testing platforms
