[Remote] Manager - Platform Engineering

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Wendy’s Company is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead a small team and contribute hands-on to platforms for public- and internal-facing applications. The role focuses on prioritizing work, developing engineers, building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, and collaborating with architects and development teams on requirements, design, performance, and cost improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of platform and cloud engineering using agile methodology to create, expand, and maintain functionality to support digital and enterprise applications
• Design, implement, and manage a highly scalable, observable, and automated cloud platform for running various workloads and applications
• Ensure engineering best practices are followed (unit and functional testing, code reviews, CI, design documentation and review, etc.)
• Collaborate with business analysts and key stakeholders to help verify requirements and develop an implementation plan

Skills

• Education: Bachelors Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems OR 6 years equivalent experience
• 5+ years of platform engineering, devops, or cloud engineering experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Skilled at communicating effectively and empathetically with technical and non-technical users
• Experience working on an Agile/Kanban team
• Prior management experience is welcome but not required
• 2+ years managing a team of engineers a plus
• Experience as a software developer a plus
• QSR experience a plus
