Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BMC Software provides enterprise solutions that connect people, systems, and data to accelerate business value. The Software Development Manager will lead a team of approximately 10 developers responsible for infrastructure development for the BMC AMI product, while overseeing hiring, mentoring, task prioritization, evaluations, and career development. The role also involves modernizing product installation technologies and leading the redesign of AWS- and Kubernetes-based CI/CD systems.
Responsibilities
- Direct management of ~10 employees
- Employee hiring, coaching/mentoring, task management, employee evaluation, employee career development etc
- Implementation of modern the product installation technologies
- Lead the CI/CD system redesign to build a new robust AWS & K8S based system accommodating large number of CI/CD processes
- Collaborate with various interfaces, such as other development teams, QA, DevOps, Support, Product Management, etc
Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in direct management of development teams
- At least 7 years of experience in software development
- Experience in hiring employees, mentoring, task management etc
- Knowledge in CI/CD and DevOps technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc
- Ability to run and evolve complex CI/CD processes
- Ability and will to adopt modern technologies
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Preferably in Mainframe technologies and tools
- Experience from enterprise companies
- Linux knowledge
- Experience in Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP...)
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
