Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Foth is a science and engineering consulting firm that delivers solutions to industrial clients. The Mechanical Process Engineer will develop and execute process utility systems, prepare technical documentation, support construction and start-up activities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other project disciplines to ensure integrated solutions
- Prepare equipment specifications and technical documentation
- Partner with clients, vendors, and suppliers to generate cost estimates and contribute to proposal development
- Create mass and energy balances to support process design
- Produce process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Compile equipment lists, line lists, and points of connection (POC) documentation
- Define operational parameters and performance criteria
- Work closely with designers to translate engineering concepts into drawings
- Author installation scope documents for construction teams
- Provide support during on-site construction and installation phases
- Assist with system checkout and start-up activities
- Mentor and coach junior team members as needed
- Conduct on-site surveys to assess existing conditions
- Travel as required, with an anticipated average of 30% annually
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- 7+ years of experience with utility systems such as steam, refrigeration/ammonia, compressed air, HVAC, compressed gases, and water systems
- Registered Professional Engineer
- Industrial HVAC and Dust Control experience
- Ability to travel as needed with anticipation of 30% annually
