Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Serco provides services to U.S. Navy clients through agile software development and lifecycle management for integrated readiness models. The BI Product Designer will develop and maintain dashboards and analytics, prepare and normalize data, manage Tableau platforms, create reports, and apply statistical methods to generate insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain dashboards and analytics
- Collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics and visualization
- Manage and utilize dashboard platforms (mainly Tableau) to extract meaningful insights
- Prepare reports using various visualization and data modeling methods
- Collect data from various data sources and normalize it
- Test and publish dashboards and reports and schedule refreshes
- Drill-down data and prepare reports with increased levels of detail
- Apply algorithms and statistical methods to obtain answers from data
- Solve data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources
Skills
- Must have an active U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance
- An active Secret security clearance
- A U.S. citizenship
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience
- The ability to work with a team in both physical and virtual environments
- The proficiency in analytics and database querying tools
- An extensive experience in developing and managing dashboards and reports in Tableau
- Excellent analytical skills to forecast and predict trends and insights using past and current data
- Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, data mapping, data analysis, and data visualization
- Experience in data presentation through various bars/charts/models/dashboards
- Sound knowledge and experience in Excel, Visio, PL/SQL, ETL, and the Tableau platform
- Technical knowledge of Tableau Products and versions including Tableau Server, Tableau Public, Tableau Online, Tableau Desktop, and so on
- To be able to build visually and interactive dashboards
- To be able to manipulate and blend data in order to design dashboards and visualization
- Knowledge of data migration, Tableau integration, and extensions
- Certifications in Tableau and other BI tools is an added advantage
- Working knowledge of Power BI and/or Qlik a plus
- Experience with government databases such as ADVANA/Jupiter a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of design principles and quality processes
- Understanding and transforming customer expectations into technical requirements
- Technical knowledge of Tableau Products and various versions
- Understanding of data security and its implementation
