[Remote] Project Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking experienced Project Managers to support a large-scale buried service wire vendor management operation. The role manages third-party vendors, tracks high-volume telecommunications work, monitors job status and deadlines, leads vendor meetings, escalates issues, and drives performance using Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned telecommunications vendors, including daily and weekly calls, workload coordination, job status updates, deadlines, and outstanding issues
• Track and manage a high volume of buried service wire jobs, ensuring vendors are working the correct jobs and completing work according to established schedules
• Use Excel as the primary tool to organize vendor data, monitor job status and performance, identify issues, and maintain accurate reporting
• Hold vendors accountable to deadlines and performance expectations by identifying delays, communicating requirements, escalating issues, and driving action through resolution
• Coordinate vendor coverage across multiple states and time zones while managing competing priorities and maintaining consistent communication with vendors and internal stakeholders
• The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, excellent organizational skills, assertive communication style, and the ability to manage a high volume of work independently

Skills

• 5+ years of experience working in telecommunications
• Proven experience managing vendors, contractors, or subcontractors, including holding partners accountable for deadlines, workload, quality, and performance
• Experience tracking high-volume work orders, tickets, jobs, or network activities and obtaining timely updates and status information from vendors
• Strong practical Microsoft Excel skills, including organizing, manipulating, filtering, sorting, and maintaining large datasets and vendor trackers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead vendor calls, control discussions, communicate expectations, and escalate issues effectively
• A self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, excellent organizational skills, assertive communication style, and the ability to manage a high volume of work independently
• Preferably in telecom operations, fiber, OSP, network deployment, or related environments
