Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. NextEra Energy is hiring a Senior Project Manager to support gas project development across technical assessments, construction readiness, and execution. The role bridges Engineering, Construction, and Supply Chain, coordinating project reviews and procurement while managing schedules, costs, risks, and executive reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support E&C's involvement in technology reviews and preliminary engineering phases for gas development projects
- Coordinate site configuration reviews, constructability assessments, and balance-of-plant evaluations
- Maintain project schedules, cost benchmarks, and cashflow models
- Manage project risk registers and support risk-adjusted cost analysis
- Coordinate with the Integrated Supply Chain on RFQ inputs and major equipment procurement
- Prepare executive-level project status packages and dashboards
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in energy project development or large capital construction
- Experience in project controls and schedule development for gas generation projects
- Familiarity with EPC/EPCM project delivery models
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams
- Experience with combined cycle or simple cycle gas development projects
- Familiarity with interconnection processes
- Experience in long-lead equipment procurement
- Exposure to balance-of-plant scopes including switchyard and transmission
