[Remote] Research Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OCHIN is a nonprofit health care innovation organization and trusted partner to a national provider network. The Research Analyst supports research projects by extracting, manipulating, and validating health care data, creating analytic datasets, and providing technical and analytical support.

Responsibilities

• Creating and managing research datasets in support of research projects and preparatory-to-research activities. Summarizing data into various formats including reports, tables, charts, and graphics
• Conducting data quality checks and improvements. Creating and maintaining technical documentation related to research data and processes
• Partnering with other OCHIN departments and affiliated research institutions, as appropriate
• Participating in operationalizing variables and translating research questions into appropriate functional and analytic designs
• Providing technical/consultative services in the context of research projects and networks
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• • Minimum 2 years working with Large Data Sets
• • Experience working with complex relational databases; ability to read, write, and maintain SQL code; database query skills and experience cleaning large, messy datasets preferred
• • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English
• • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms
• • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely
• • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
• • High Speed Internet Service
• • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace
• • Travel required up to 20% nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements for OCHIN
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis at the time of application

• • Minimum 2 years working with health care data (electronic health records, claims data, etc.) preferred
• • Minimum 1 year programming experience with data querying and/or statistical software (SQL or SAS preferred) preferred
• • Knowledge or experience with Epic EHR or Clarity database preferred
• • Knowledge of community health centers and safety net healthcare preferred
• • Health-related research experience preferred
