[Remote] Senior Accounting Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant to support a corporate, private equity-backed organization. The consultant will own key accounting functions, support accurate and timely financial reporting, and contribute to accounting initiatives and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting
• Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters
• Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and close efficiency
• Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and special projects
• Support system implementations, integrations, accounting cleanup, and process improvement initiatives as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Progressive accounting experience within a corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining effective internal controls
• Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting system skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and effectively partner with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience within a private equity-backed, high-growth, or evolving corporate environment
• CPA
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with ERP implementations, M&A integration, or finance transformation initiatives
