Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SpinQuest is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale the backend systems behind its social gaming platform. The role focuses on gameplay, payments, APIs, secure transaction processing, real-time performance, infrastructure, and shipping features with product and frontend teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and scale backend systems powering gameplay, payments, and user experiences
- Build reliable APIs and integrations (including third-party systems)
- Architect secure, audit-friendly systems for transaction processing
- Optimize performance for real-time, high-traffic environments
- Drive infrastructure and database design (Postgres, cloud, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with product and frontend to ship end-to-end features
Skills
- Strong experience with TypeScript + Node.js (NestJS/Express a plus)
- Proven ability to design scalable, reliable systems
- Experience with transactions, integrations, and system architecture
- Solid database skills (especially PostgreSQL)
- Security-first mindset with attention to data integrity and traceability
- Comfortable working autonomously in a startup environment
- Background inGaming/iGaming, fintech, WebSockets, or real-time systems
