Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Staff Financial Group is recruiting for an established commercial real estate ownership and development company. The hands-on Senior Commercial Real Estate Accountant / Accounting Manager will handle property, partnership, and development accounting, owner and investor reporting, and work with ownership and leadership during succession planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare owner and investor reporting packages , partnership allocations, and capital account reconciliations
- Perform waterfall calculations , preferred returns, and investor distributions
- Handle accounting for grocery-anchored retail centers, restaurant tenants, and mixed-use developments
- Oversee CAM reconciliations, property expenses, and tenant recoveries
- Support development accounting, construction-in-progress, and intercompany transactions
- Work closely with ownership and existing leadership through the succession planning process
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience with partnership accounting, owner reporting, and waterfall calculations
- Experience with retail, mixed-use, office, multifamily, or other commercial properties
- Proficiency with MRI and/or Yardi and advanced Excel
- Strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting skills
- Comfortable working independently in a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment
- Preferably in commercial real estate
- Public accounting foundation
