[Remote] Senior Elasticsearch Security Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SARACA is seeking an OpenSearch Platform & Security Engineer to manage, secure, migrate, and automate OpenSearch/Elasticsearch environments. The role focuses on platform administration, security controls, Terraform and CI/CD automation, troubleshooting, and integration with enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage, administer, and support OpenSearch and Elasticsearch environments
• Plan and execute platform migrations, including data, indexes, configurations, and related components
• Configure and maintain OpenSearch Dashboards
• Implement and manage Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC) using the OpenSearch Security Plugin
• Configure JWT-based authentication and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Implement Document-Level Security (DLS) and Field-Level Security (FLS)
• Manage roles, permissions, role mappings, and access-control policies
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning and platform deployments
• Troubleshoot platform, security, configuration, migration, and deployment issues
• Support platform upgrades and configuration changes while ensuring system stability and security
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to integrate OpenSearch with enterprise applications

Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with OpenSearch and/or Elasticsearch administration and operations
• Proven experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch platform migration
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing OpenSearch Dashboards
• Strong knowledge of the OpenSearch Security Plugin and Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC)
• JWT-based authentication
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Document-Level Security (DLS)
• Field-Level Security (FLS)
• Roles, permissions, and role mappings
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across platform and security components
• Experience managing large-scale, highly available OpenSearch/Elasticsearch clusters
• Knowledge of cluster performance tuning, monitoring, indexing, and search optimization
• Experience integrating OpenSearch security with enterprise identity and authentication systems
• Familiarity with Git-based infrastructure management and deployment workflows
