Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cognizant is hiring a Senior Linux Engineer (Cloud) to manage enterprise Linux environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. The role focuses on availability, security, automation, production support, and collaboration on infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu environments
- Manage Linux server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Support cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure
- Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform
- Deploy and support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes
- Collaborate with application, network, and cloud teams on infrastructure initiatives
Skills
- 7+ years of Linux Administration experience (RHEL preferred)
- AWS and/or Azure Cloud
- Shell Scripting (Bash) and Python
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Linux Patching, Hardening, and Security
- Production Support and Troubleshooting
- Legally authorized to work in US without requiring employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
