Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. grndtc.com is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a team building secure, serverless, distributed, cloud-native applications on AWS. The role focuses on designing and shipping new product features, partnering across teams, owning delivery and quality, writing automated tests, and improving the codebase and development process.
Responsibilities
- Designing and shipping new product features in a fast-moving, serverless AWS environment
- Building with security and least-privilege access as first-class citizens, not afterthoughts
- Partnering closely with dev, QA, product, and architecture teams to ship on a regular cadence
- Owning the quality and delivery of what you build — end to end
- Writing automated tests that actually catch things
- Spotting opportunities to make the codebase and the process better, and acting on them
Skills
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on AWS experience — CloudFront, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, VPC, API Gateway
- Strong Node.js/TypeScript and Python skills
- Angular or solid general web development chops
- Testing experience with Jest, Karma, or similar
- A track record building HTTP-based APIs
- An eye for intuitive, easy-to-use interfaces
- Comfort troubleshooting distributed systems and thinking in terms of observability
- Git fluency; Azure DevOps pipeline knowledge is a plus
- A genuine curiosity about new tools and technologies — and the judgment to know when they're actually worth adopting
