[Remote] Smart Brevity Account Director

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Axios HQ is hiring an Account Director to build and grow strategic professional services partnerships throughout the client lifecycle. The role owns enterprise accounts, develops account strategies, collaborates on services programs, and identifies opportunities to expand client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow a book of enterprise accounts — building the kind of multi-year relationship where you know a client's comms challenges as well as they do
• Collaborate with our services delivery team to design and pitch professional services programs that meet customers’ goals
• Build and execute account strategies for high-potential clients: quarterly business reviews, executive sponsor relationships, and documented growth plans
• Ask curious, consultative questions to understand each client's state of comms, and use that insight to shape their ongoing Smart Brevity journey
• Act as a networker and relationship-builder — both inside Axios HQ and across a client's organization, expanding access to execs and other department leads over time
• Identify new opportunities to expand existing client relationships and new prospects to pursue, working with marketing colleagues

Skills

• 6-8 years of direct professional experience, at least 3 years of direct commercial experience owning a book of business
• Highly skilled at managing a multi-threaded sales and account management process - involving multiple client stakeholders and decision makers using solution-selling principles and concepts
• Strong fundamental sales skills including pain identification, storytelling, objection handling, and navigating a complex process to close business
• Collaborative - both internally and externally
• Proactive - able to prospect for new opportunities
• Consultative - takes a sales approach that responds to customer needs to build and maintain a long-term partnership
• Organized - manage your book of business and your time efficiently
• Creative and open to trying to new ways of doing things
• Experience working at a startup, where product offerings evolve quickly
• Experience building professional connections in the communications sector
