Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Oak Street Health MSO LLC is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to build applications that improve the experience of its teams and patients. The role partners with engineering, product, and design teams and uses modern methodologies and open-source tools in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will partner with our stellar engineering, product, and design teams in a fast-paced, agile environment to transform ideas into a reality
- Utilizing modern methodologies and open source tools, you will be empowered to push the boundaries of development as we seek to deliver applications that will directly and immediately impact the experience of our teams and our patients
Skills
- Technical Design Experience
- 6+ years of experience building large consumer-facing products using Ruby or Java/Kotlin
- Experience working in a distributed, cloud-based environment either in Azure/AWS using Docker/Kubernetes
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to enhance productivity and code quality
- Experience with unit & integration testing
- Experience in building cloud native scalable Microservices
- Experience working with MongoDb or PostgreSQL
- Experience working in an Agile/Devops environment
- US work authorization
- Bachelor degree in CS or relevant degree / work experience
- Familiarity with our tech stack: Ruby, GraphQL, AWS DevOps, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Experience with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS/JavaScript) and full-stack development patterns
- Strong understanding of observability and using telemetry to inform decision making
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change requirements
