The Staff Engineer will provide technical leadership for the lifecycle management of a Kubernetes compute platform, improving its reliability, scalability, security, cost efficiency, and developer experience across cloud vendors.
Responsibilities
- As a Senior Staff Engineer on the Cloud Infrastructure Compute team, you ll be the technical leader for the lifecycle management of our Kubernetes compute platform
- You will enable the Cloud Infrastructure organization to work efficiently and effectively by enhancing all aspects of the engineering experience
- Your team will provide the reliability, scalability, security, and developer experience necessary for infrastructure teams to deliver enhancements to the platform and product teams
- Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers
- Deliver enhancements that drive the cost efficiency of our cloud platform
- Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Contribute to the multi-year strategy to evolve client s Cloud Platform
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance the compute platform
Skills
- Visa: US Citizens Only (USC)
- 13+ Years
- BS, MS or Ph.D. in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years of relevant work experience in infrastructure
- 4+ years of expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g. EC2)
- Experience setting technical direction, planning, and successfully executing on large projects spanning multiple teams
- Kubernetes Experience Is Required
- Must have advanced Kubernetes expertise, specifically: Hands-on experience writing Kubernetes controllers
- Experience building and working with admission Webhooks
- US Citizens Only
- 13+ Years of Experience
- Strong Go + Advanced Kubernetes Controllers + Admission Webhooks
- Istio/Envoy Experience is preferred
- Strong preference for candidates proficient in Go (Golang)
