[Remote] Vice President of Accounting

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SkyBand Semiconductors is hiring a Vice President of Accounting to lead its accounting strategy, financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and financial close processes. The role partners with the CFO and other business leaders to strengthen financial governance, improve accounting efficiency, manage reporting risks, and support strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide accounting strategies, policies, and operational frameworks
• Establish accounting standards, procedures, internal reporting requirements, and financial governance practices
• Align accounting operations with corporate financial objectives, business growth, and organizational priorities
• Advise the CFO and executive leadership on accounting matters, financial reporting risks, and policy decisions
• Lead accounting transformation initiatives to improve accuracy, efficiency, accountability, and operational consistency
• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP or IFRS, as relevant
• Manage consolidation processes across subsidiaries, business units, and geographic regions
• Review balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and supporting financial schedules
• Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, consistent, and delivered within established reporting deadlines
• Oversee general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, revenue accounting, and related functions
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure timely and reliable financial results
• Establish standardized reconciliation procedures, journal-entry controls, and account-review processes
• Monitor accounting transaction accuracy, documentation quality, and operational efficiency
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and reduce close-cycle time
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting and accounting operations
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax-related reporting requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations
• Develop accounting procedures to prevent errors, unauthorized transactions, and financial reporting inconsistencies
• Monitor control deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments
• Support corporate governance requirements and, where applicable, internal control frameworks such as SOX
• Coordinate internal audits, external audits, financial reviews, and accounting examinations
• Serve as a senior accounting contact for external auditors, regulatory authorities, and other financial stakeholders
• Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, reconciliations, and financial explanations
• Resolve audit findings and oversee implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain effective relationships with auditors, accounting advisors, and relevant professional service providers
• Analyze accounting results, unusual transactions, financial variances, and significant changes in reported balances
• Provide accounting guidance to business units on revenue recognition, expense classification, capitalization, and financial policies
• Collaborate with Finance and FP&A teams to ensure consistency between accounting results, forecasts, and management reports
• Evaluate the accounting implications of new contracts, business models, acquisitions, and significant transactions
• Provide reliable accounting information to support budgeting, planning, investment analysis, and executive decision-making
• Oversee accounting systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, and financial reporting tools
• Lead initiatives to automate reconciliations, journal entries, transaction processing, and financial reporting workflows
• Establish data-quality standards, system-access controls, and accounting information-management procedures
• Collaborate with Technology and Finance teams to implement accounting system enhancements and integrations
• Use analytics and automation to improve productivity, reporting accuracy, and accounting transparency
• Build and lead high-performing accounting teams across corporate and business-unit functions
• Establish team objectives, performance standards, professional development programs, and succession plans
• Develop accounting leaders and strengthen technical expertise, compliance awareness, and operational discipline
• Promote a culture of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Manage organizational change and ensure accounting capabilities scale with business growth

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Typically 15+ years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, controllership, or related finance functions
• Typically 8+ years of experience in senior accounting management or leadership roles
• Proven experience overseeing general ledger operations, financial statements, consolidation, accounting controls, and audit processes
• Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards, internal controls, financial governance, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Experience in multinational organizations, publicly traded companies, or complex industries such as technology, healthcare, financial services, semiconductor, manufacturing, energy, or professional services
