Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Talemexa is seeking a WordPress Developer to build, customize, optimize, and maintain company and client websites. The role focuses on custom WordPress development, performance, security, SEO, troubleshooting, and collaboration with design and marketing teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites for Talemexa and its clients
- Build custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements
- Create responsive, accessible, and user-friendly website layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
- Optimize website performance, page loading speed, and Core Web Vitals where applicable
- Implement on-page SEO best practices, including clean site structures, metadata, and performance improvements
- Maintain WordPress core, themes, and plugins through regular updates and compatibility checks
- Apply website security best practices and maintain reliable backup procedures
- Identify and resolve website bugs, technical issues, broken layouts, and functionality errors
- Work closely with designers, marketers, and other team members to translate business requirements into effective web solutions
- Configure and maintain website features using Elementor or the WordPress Gutenberg editor
- Support WooCommerce functionality when required for e-commerce projects
- Write clean, maintainable code and follow development best practices
- Test website functionality, browser compatibility, responsiveness, and performance before deployment
Skills
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development
- Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins
- Familiarity with Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar WordPress page-building tools
- Understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility
- Knowledge of website performance optimization and SEO fundamentals
- Familiarity with WordPress security, updates, backups, and troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve technical problems
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team
